Items like pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning help you spot danger and take precautions to avoid it. You’ll also enjoy a larger 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, which makes apps easier to spot.
If you decide on the upscale Outlander PHEV GT model, you can also opt for the brand new GT Premium package. This newly available package is big on style, adding premium leather upholstery and black interior trim to your GT.
What trim models are available?
Choose between two 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV trim models: the SEL and GT. Both are five-passenger plug-in hybrid crossovers with an impressive array of tech and luxury features.
The SEL sets you up with a very comfortable ride, courtesy of upscale features like leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated front seats, reclining rear seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The entry-level Outlander PHEV also provides plenty of modern convenience. Features like heated side mirrors, automatic headlights, and the rearview camera help you navigate your daily drive with ease.
Infotainment also comes standard. The SEL keeps you connected with an 8-inch touchscreen, voice controls, and three USB ports. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technology put smartphone apps within easy reach, displaying them on the Outlander’s 8-inch touchscreen.
If you’re looking for a little more style, check out the GT. Outside, the GT’s LED headlights and a sunroof will draw envious glances. Inside, this Outlander PHEV improves comfort levels with a heated steering wheel and an upgraded sound system. It even includes a multiview camera to help you steer your way out of a narrow spot.
How does the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV work?
The 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a plug-in hybrid, which means it combines a gas-powered engine with electric motors for an efficient performance. All Outlander PHEV trim models feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two 60-kilowatt electric motors, located at each axle, which produce a combined output of 190 horsepower.
In addition to its efficient hybrid performance (74 MPGe), the Outlander PHEV can also travel up to 22 miles on electric power alone. And its standard DC fast charging port means you can recharge this PHEV quickly and efficiently, replenishing the battery up to 80 percent in just 25 minutes
Is the Outlander PHEV 4WD?
This crossover technically comes standard with all-wheel drive, thanks to the aforementioned electric motors. Since there’s one at each axle, the Outlander PHEV effectively powers all four wheels. And this means that this plug-in hybrid is ready for a little off-road adventure.
